Imaginative and motivational note-reading
and writing activities provide an educational
and fun way for students to reinforce note
reading at the very beginning levels of piano
study. Slowly paced and logical, students
can easily learn each new note on the staff
with confidence. Students learn how to read
in an ideal way by combining a traditional
note reading approach with an intervallic
approach. This is the surest way to quickly
succeed with music reading right from the
very beginning! |

Elementary / Late Elementary
Storyville is a collection of eight piano
solos with optional accompaniment that introduces
students to the riches of ragtime, blues and
rock'n'roll. Simple yet sophisticated, the
titles tour famous American cities where popular
styles originated: Georgia Nights
– a gospel blues tune; Bogalusa
Blues – a Louisiana Delta blues
style; Sweet Sedalia – a ragtime
piece named after the city where Scott Joplin
launched his career; Memphis Madness
– a tribute to Jerry Lee Lewis; and
others. No key signatures are used (accidentals
are placed in front of the notes). Students
of any age will enjoy playing through this
collection – can be used for sight reading
for higher level students. |
