Karen Ann Krieger
hails from Chicago and holds piano performance degrees from the
University of Illinois and Western Illinois University. She has
toured extensively throughout the U.S., Great Britain, British
Columbia, and Cyprus as a clinician and performer. Karen has thrilled
a wide range of audiences during her appearances with the Nashville
Symphony, Atlanta Russian Orchestra, and the Gregg Allman Band. Ms.
Kriegers unique ability to teach basic through advanced
keyboard skills, jazz improvisation, and MIDI technology, provides
her students with solid foundations that have won them state and
national piano performance and composition contests.
She and her
husband, Stephan, have co-authored two books, Learn from the
Legends: Rock Keyboard and Learn from the Legends: Blues Keyboard.
As a composer, their blues book has won national recognition as
2001s National Music and Sound Award for Best New Music
Folio by Music and Sound Retailer Magazine. Her solo
piano competitions have been included on the National Federation
Competition List.
In addition to her
successful career in music, Ms. Krieger has gained recognition as an
ADDY Award-winning television journalist interviewing a variety of
people from Presidents Carter and Reagan to Billy Joel. Presently,
Karen Ann Krieger is an Associate Professor of Piano and Piano
Pedagogy, and Chair of the Collegiate Piano Department at Vanderbilt
University's Blair School of Music. |
